Written by Paul Bedford

Caster Semenya made a winning reutrn to the athletics track after a 11-month absence when she claimed victory in an 800m event in Finland. While her time of 2:04.22 was considerably slower than the 1:55.45 she set last year, the 19-year old has taken the first step on the path she hopes will lead her to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October.

Semenya was cleared to compete as a female by the IAAF less than two weeks ago after questions were raised about her gender at the world championships in Berlin last year.
