A1 Team Ireland became the first team to win both races at one event this season when Adam Carroll took a lights to flag victory in the feature race at Brands Hatch this afternoon. The Irish driver took the lead into Paddock Hill bend from the second start, after the first start was aborted when South Africa's Alan van der Merwe stalled on the grid, and was never headed on his way to a comfotable win. Jeroen Bleekemolen (Netherlands) and Neel Jani (Switzerland) were second and third respectively.

After starting at the back of the grid, Alan van der Merwe worked his way up to 11th at the flag, still not enough to add to South Afica's championship points haul.

Ireland's double win secured them the championship for season four ahead fo Switzerland with Portugal in third. South Africa, who did not score any points in the season's final event, dropped down the field and ended the season in 14th place, tied on points with Mexico.
