Pirates victorious in Soweto derby

Two goals by Katlego Mashego led Orlando Pirates to a 2-1 win over Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs at a packed Coca-Cola park this afternoon. While the Buccaneers deserved their win, they kept their fans waiting until the last few minutes of the game as there were already 85 minutes on the clock when Mashego netted his second.

The loss puts Chiefs out of the title race as they are now seven points behind log leaders SuperSport United with just two games left to play. Pirates have closed the gap on the defending champions to just three points.
