Search continues for missing yachtsman

The search for an elderly yachtsman who went missing on the Vaal Dam will continue this morning. Johan Simon was last seen near Groot Eiland on Friday when he was anchored with a flotilla of other yachts. He left the area when a thunderstorm broke out.

Members of the National Sea Rescue Institute have been searching for him since Saturday but have found no sign of him or his yacht. NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said, "The NSRI will continue the search on the Vaal Dam. We are appealing to anyone who knows Johan Simon to come forward. The next few days will be crucial in the search. We are hoping that something will start to float, but all possibilities are being looked at."
